FCAAP Statement Regarding the COVID-19 Vaccine and Florida’s Children

Following a COVID-19 roundtable convened by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis where Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo recommended against the COVID-19 vaccine for “healthy children,” the Florida Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FCAAP), which represents more than 2,500 pediatricians across the state, spoke out in support of the COVID-19 vaccine for all eligible children ages 5 and older in Florida.

FCAAP Appoints New Representative to Board of Directors

Following a recent vacancy in the Region 1 Representative position, The Florida Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FCAAP) has appointed Shaista Safder, MD, FAAP, Dipl. of ABOM as Region 1 Representative to its Board of Directors for the remainder of the 2020-2022 term, effective January 1, 2022.

FCAAP, AAP, First Focus, and 70 Child Advocacy Organizations Call on Gov. DeSantis to Protect Immigrant Children
