STATE OF FLORIDA ACTIVATES SMALL BUSINESS EMERGENCY BRIDGE LOAN PROGRAM
If your pediatric practice suffered economic or physical injury resulting Hurricane Ian, help may be available through the state of Florida’s Small Business Emergency Bridge Loan program. Gov. Ron DeSantis activated the program on Tuesday, Oct. 4, making available $50 million in short-term, no-interest loans to affected businesses in 22 Florida counties.
Qualifying counties include Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Flagler, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, Hillsborough, Lake, Lee, Manatee, Monroe, Orange, Osceola, Pinellas, Polk, Putnam, Sarasota, Seminole, St. Johns, and Volusia Counties. Applications from businesses in the most affected counties—Charlotte, Collier, Lee, and Sarasota—will be prioritized.
The program is administered by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO). Eligible businesses can apply now through Dec. 2, or until all funds are expended. Loans approved through the program are intended to “bridge the gap” between the time a disaster impacts a business and the time a business has secured longer term recovery funding such as federally or commercially available loans, insurance claims, or other resources. Loans of up to $50,000 are available.
Visit this website to learn more about the Small Business Emergency Loan program, to view the lending guidelines and required documentation, and to complete an application by the December 2, 2022 deadline. For further assistance, call DEO at 833-832-4494 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
