Florida Pediatric Foundation Supports No Kid Hungry Florida this Holiday Season

Dec 5, 2020 | Press Releases

Did you know that 1 in 4 children in the United States could face hunger this year because of the coronavirus?

Florida’s kids need us. Feeding America estimates that 22.7% of children in Florida under age 18 are living in households that experienced limited or uncertain availability of safe, nutritious food at some point during the year. When schools close due to the coronavirus, children lose the school meals they depend on. For some, it’s the only food they’ll receive in a given day.

Beginning on Giving Tuesday, the Florida Pediatric Foundation (FPF), the charitable foundation of the Florida Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FCAAP), is raising funds to help No Kid Hungry Florida continue their work providing School Breakfast and Afterschool Meals to Florida’s kids in need. While meal equivalency varies during COVID-19 relief, our target goal of $2,500 has the potential to provide up to 25,000 meals. Learn more at NoKidHungry.org/OneDollar.

With your help, we can make a difference. Click here to make a donation of any size to No Kid Hungry Florida from December 1, 2020 through the end of the year, and together, we can help children in Florida have access to healthy food.

Thank you for helping us support Florida’s kids to be happy, safe, and healthy!
